About Our Sweet Centre

Sweet Centre was founded in the centre point of Bradford in 1964 by the late Haji Abdul Rehman. Traditional Asian sweets weren’t yet well-known in Britain at the time. The earliest consumers of sweet Centre were migrant workers from Pakistan and India who yearned for treats that reminded them of home.
After more than 50 years in business, Sweet Centre is still regarded as one of the UK’s most respected restaurants serving traditional, home-cooked South Asian food. It’s a great place for family and friends to socialise while indulging on meals they’ve loved since childhood. In a vibrant, cheerful environment, people from all cultures come together to unite through their appreciation of excellent south Asian food.
As more and more people from all over the UK come to sample our traditional sweets and savoury treats, Sweet Centre’s popularity grows yearly. They were highly regarded even by the queen herself! In 2002, H.R.H. Queen Elizabeth II was presented with Sweet Centres most well-liked mithai from the late Haji Abdul Rehman himself.
